The Badminton Agency Take the quiz

For athletes

You are worth more to sponsors than you're being paid.

Most badminton players have never had a commercial approach from outside their racket supplier. That's not a reflection of your value. It's a reflection of who's been doing the asking.

Why you're undervalued

The problem isn't your following. It's the introduction.

Brands aren't avoiding badminton. Most of them have simply never been shown what it can do for them.

Engagement beats follower count, and badminton wins on engagement. A player with 30,000 genuinely invested followers in a market where the sport matters is a better buy for most brands than a lifestyle influencer with ten times that number and no relationship with their audience. Marketing teams know this. They just don't know you exist.

Equipment deals are the ceiling, not the floor. Rackets, shoes and apparel are where almost every player's commercial life begins and ends. But the categories that spend real money (finance, telecoms, food and drink, health, automotive, local B2B) have barely touched the sport.

Being approachable is a skill. A lot of deals die not because the athlete wasn't valuable but because the brand couldn't work out what they'd get, or the player agreed to obligations they couldn't sustain around a training and competition schedule. That's fixable, and fixing it is part of what we do.

Your career is short. The commercial one doesn't have to be. Partnerships built now, on terms that respect your schedule, tend to be the ones that carry into coaching, punditry or business after you stop competing. If you already coach alongside competing, that side has its own page. See coaches.

What we do for you

Representation, properly done

Not a directory listing. We work a small roster because doing this well takes real time per athlete.

01

Commercial valuation

An honest read of what you're worth right now (audience, results, market, media profile and category fit) so you go into a conversation knowing the number rather than guessing at it.

Enquire
02

Finding and approaching partners

We take you to brands who have a reason to say yes, with a proposition built around their business rather than a generic sponsorship deck sent to fifty companies.

Enquire
03

Negotiation & contracts

Fees, term, exclusivity, image rights, appearance days and what happens if you're injured. The clauses that matter are the ones nobody reads until it's too late.

Enquire
04

Media & partner training

How to talk about a sponsor without sounding like an advert, how to run a content day efficiently, and how to build a following that a brand can see the value in.

Enquire
05

Delivery support

Once a deal is signed, someone has to make sure the obligations get met and the partner stays happy. We keep that off your plate so you can train.

Who we look for

You don't need to be world number one

The most commercially interesting athletes are often not the highest ranked ones. These are the traits that matter.

An engaged audience

People who reply, watch to the end and turn up. Size matters less than depth.

A market that cares

You compete or you're followed somewhere badminton carries real weight.

Something to say

A story, a personality or a point of view a brand can build content around.

Reliability

You'll do what you agreed to do, on the day you agreed to do it.

A trajectory

Rising juniors and national squad members are often better value than established names.

Doubles partnerships

Two players and one story is often an easier sell than either would be alone.

Para-badminton

An audience and a story that brands with genuine inclusion commitments should be paying for.

Life after playing

Retired pros with profile and time are frequently the easiest partners to activate.

Getting started

What happens if you get in touch

Costs you nothing to find out. We only earn when you do.

Step 01

Introduction

A conversation about where you are in your career, what you're already committed to, and what you want commercially.

Step 02

Honest assessment

We tell you what we think you're worth today and what would move that number. Sometimes the answer is "come back in a year". You'll get that straight.

Step 03

Build the proposition

Audience data, story, assets and a clear offer, packaged so a marketing director can approve it without a second meeting.

Step 04

Take it to market

Targeted approaches to categories with a reason to buy, then negotiation and delivery support once someone bites.

Questions

What players usually want to know

Ask anything else directly. There is no obligation, and no cost to have the conversation.

What does it cost me?

Representation is commission-based: we take a percentage of deals we bring you. If we don't find you anything, you don't pay us. We'll be explicit about the rate before you commit to anything.

I already have an equipment sponsor. Is that a problem?

No. Most of the value we add is in the categories your equipment deal doesn't touch. We'll check your existing exclusivity clauses first so nothing we bring you creates a conflict.

How big does my following need to be?

There's no threshold. Engagement, market and category fit matter far more than raw numbers. We've seen brands prefer a 12,000-follower player with a devoted audience over someone with 200,000 passive ones.

Will this take time away from training?

It shouldn't, and we build deals with that in mind. Appearance and content obligations get negotiated around your competition calendar, not on top of it. The admin side stays with us.

I coach as well as compete. Where do I fit?

Both, and we'd normally run one strategy across the two rather than treat them as separate businesses. The coaching side has its own coaches page, because the buyers, the argument and the timescales are genuinely different.

Find out what you're worth.

An honest assessment, no commitment, and no cost to have the conversation.
