Clubs, academies & venues
You already own everything a sponsor wants.
Members, courts, junior programmes, a mailing list and decades of community trust. Almost no club has ever priced any of it. Helping you fix that is a cornerstone of what we do. (Running a tournament as well? That is a different problem; see events.)
The problem
Most clubs sell a banner. That's leaving the money on the floor.
The banner is worth almost nothing to the business buying it. The things around it are worth a great deal. They've just never been offered.
A local business doesn't want your wall space. It wants your members. An engaged community of players and parents, meeting regularly, in a defined catchment, who trust the club. That's a marketing channel most local businesses would pay properly for, if anyone had ever explained it to them in those terms.
Your junior programme is your strongest asset and your least-used one. Family audiences, long-term relationships, genuine social value and a story that a sponsor's own marketing team can use. It is far more valuable than court-side signage and it almost never gets sold.
Court time is inventory, and most of it sits empty. Off-peak hire, corporate days, staff sessions, product demos and school partnerships all use capacity you are already paying for. Sold as a package rather than given away one booking at a time, it becomes a genuine revenue line.
Underpricing hurts you twice. It costs you the revenue, and it teaches local businesses that badminton sponsorship is a £300 line item. Getting the packaging and the price right the first time is most of the work.
Asset audit
What you're probably sitting on
This is the checklist we work through on a first visit. Most clubs are surprised by at least four of these.
Member database
A permissioned audience with known demographics and regular contact.
Junior & family programmes
The highest-value, lowest-sold asset almost every club owns.
Venue & court time
Corporate days, product demos, staff sessions and off-peak hire.
Club competitions & open days
Regular footfall you control the calendar for, all year round.
Coaching expertise
Sellable as a service to schools, employers and community programmes.
Social & content
Match content, results and club life: a real channel if it's run properly.
Community standing
Local credibility that businesses cannot buy any other way.
Naming rights
Courts, leagues, teams, competitions and programmes, priced individually.
How we help
From audit to signed partner
Scaled to fit a volunteer committee as easily as a full-time commercial manager.
Commercial audit
We go through everything the organisation owns or controls and identify what's genuinely sellable, what needs work first, and what you should stop giving away for free.
EnquirePackaging & pricing
Assets grouped into tiers a business can understand and approve, with defensible prices attached. No more improvising a number when someone asks what it costs.
EnquireFinding buyers
Targeted approaches to the local and national businesses with an actual reason to want your audience, rather than a letter to every company on the high street.
EnquireDelivery & renewal
The unglamorous part that determines whether year two happens: doing what was promised, reporting on it, and going into renewal with evidence.
EnquireCommittee coaching
If you'd rather run this yourselves, we'll train whoever holds the commercial role so the knowledge stays in the club when volunteers change over.
EnquireAcademies
An academy is a different commercial animal
Fee-paying parents, a performance pathway and a year-round programme. The assets are stronger than a club’s and the pricing conversation is completely different.
A paying customer base
Parents already spending significant money on their child’s development are a defined, high-intent audience, and one that almost no brand outside equipment has ever tried to reach.
The pathway story
Players moving from your programme into county, national or professional badminton is the single most sellable narrative in the sport. It needs documenting properly before it can be sold.
Residential & international
Overseas students, training camps and visiting squads bring travel, insurance, nutrition and accommodation categories into play that a community club cannot access.
Year-round contact
Daily sessions over a whole season give a partner something no event can: sustained presence rather than a weekend of visibility.
Facility naming
Courts, halls, gyms and the academy itself, valued individually and sold on terms that do not tie your hands for a decade.
Coach education
Your coaching methodology is intellectual property. Courses, licensing and coach-education partnerships are a revenue line most academies never open.
Questions
What clubs ask us first
Happy to have an informal conversation with a committee before you commit to anything.
We're a small volunteer-run club. Is this relevant to us?
Often more relevant than for a big organisation, because the upside is proportionally larger and nobody has ever done the work. We scale the engagement to what a committee can realistically manage.
We can't afford consultancy fees.
Say so on the call. We run smaller pieces of work, coaching-only engagements and success-based arrangements for exactly this reason. We'd rather structure something workable than not have the conversation.
Won't sponsors just say no?
Some will. But the rejection rate drops dramatically when you approach the right businesses with a proposition built around what they need, instead of asking every local firm to support the club.
How long before we see money?
A well-run audit and packaging phase takes a few weeks. Local partnerships can close quickly after that; larger regional or national deals typically align to a sponsor's budget cycle, so plan for months rather than weeks.
Do you work outside the UK?
Yes. Badminton's commercial centres of gravity are international and so is our work.
